(Augusta, MI) The Barn Theatre brings back the earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos and unforgettable songs of the 70s in DISASTER! Back by popular demand, this campy, side-splitting homage to classic disaster films runs just ONE WEEK June 4 – 9.

It’s 1979, and New York’s hottest A-listers are lining up for the opening of a floating casino and discotheque. Also attending is a faded disco star (guest artist Shinnerrie Jackson), a sexy nightclub singer (Samantha Rickard) with her eleven-year-old twins (both portrayed by local 7th grade Parchment student, Aiden Wall), a disaster expert (Hans Friedrichs), a feminist reporter (Melissa Cotton Hunter) an older couple (Charlie King and Penelope Alex), pair of young guys who are looking for ladies (Jamey Grisham and second-year apprentice Christian Edwards),an untrustworthy businessman (Jonnie Carpathios) and a nun with a gambling addiction (first year apprentice Luiza Vitucci). What begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters, such as earthquakes, tidal waves and infernos. As the night turns into day, everyone struggles to survive and, quite possibly, repair the love that they’ve lost… or at least escape the killer rats.

DISASTER! is a new musical, featuring some of the most unforgettable songs of the ’70s. “Knock on Wood,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Sky High,” “I Am Woman” and “Hot Stuff” which are just a few of the scintillating hits in this hilarious musical comedy with a book by three-time Emmy Award nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host, Seth Rudetsky, and Jack Plotnick.(Language, adults situations).

DISASTER! began its life Off-Broadway at the Triad Theatre and moved to St. Luke’s Theatre. The show and had a short run of 72 performances on Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre in March of 2016.
