Jonnie Carpathios is the latest Apprentice Actor to earn his Equity Membership through the Barn Theatre in Augusta
We are thrilled to announce that returning Apprentice, Jonnie Carpathios, is the Barn’s newest Actors’ Equity Association member!
Jonnie is returning to the Barn for his second season this summer. He graduated from Shawnee State University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. He’s a classically trained tenor and has acted professionally in film and on stage. He’s also recently been a part of the Barn’s 54 Below Fundraiser Cabaret in NYC!
As an Equity theatre, the Barn employs accomplished professional actors who belong to the union, brings back guest stars for performances, and allows for Apprentice Actors to learn the trade and the craft of theatre production.
Brendan Ragotzy, Owner and Producer at the Barn Theatre said, “Our Apprentice Actors play a huge role in the success of the Barn and its productions, and as such, Jonnie is an immeasurable asset to our theatre family! We’re excited to continue to build our family of Barnies every single year.”
Apprentices are inherently tied to the Barn’s productions, participating in backstage duties and performing in main stage shows. You’ll also find them leading Backstage Xperience groups, helping park cars, and breaking down and moving sets for each show. It’s through these activities and responsibilities that our Apprentice Actors become Equity Membership Candidates and accrue weeks toward an Equity card.
Playing Jack Kelly, the front runner in our production of Disney’s NEWSIES is a great opportunity to watch Carpathios in action! The production runs August 8-20.
