Theatre Company? No, We’re a Theatre Family!

|

Here at the Barn, we really and truly grow to be an inseparable group of artists, performers, cast, and crew. Our love for theatre and everything that goes into it gives us an incredible connection from the beginning, and from then on, it’s undeniable that We Are Family. (cue the song by Sister Sledge)

Now, this may be mostly true because of all the time that goes into preparing for our shows… When you spend day after day in rehearsals, creating sets, costumes, and props, you can’t help but to grow close with each other! Luckily for us, it’s about much more than that. It’s about our common goals, and our shared love and appreciation for live theatre, for the Barn, and for simply being a Barnie.

Not only do we spend hours upon hours in rehearsals, but we put on 12 performances of each show! That’s a lot of performing and a lot of running around with each other. It’s a lot of adrenaline and a lot of relying on your friends to help you whenever you may need it. Understandably, this pushes us all to support one another and grow that familial connection.

Barnies for Life

There’s also this undeniable relationship that builds within the Barn Theatre, and that never goes away when you’re a Barnie. It’s part of the experience. It’s why Barnies from years ago come back to star in shows. It’s why those who make it big never forget where they started. It might be a cliché but it really is true: once a Barnie, always a Barnie.

From all the work behind the scenes—those who create costumes, design lights, choreograph and build sets—to the box office operations and performances themselves, there’s something truly special about the Barn. From running lines with friends to late night dinners with one another, you sign up for a second family when you become a Barnie. And truly, we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Many of our patrons recognize this, and they too are part of the Barn family. The intimacy the Barn provides, you get to know and love, our cast and crew. You watch them grow and hone their craft from one show to the next. If you haven’t visited us, or simply haven’t been in a while, then this is your invitation to come see us and be entertained, energized and connected to all that is going on here.
