Evan Benjamin

First Year Apprentice

Evan is so happy to be joining the Barn for his first season. He is a rising sophomore at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT studying Musical Theatre. Previous shows include portraying Arpad in SHE LOVES ME, Jack in INTO THE WOODS, and Marius LES MISERABLES. Huge thanks to Mom, Dad, and Ian for all their love and support.

 

 


Abbey Brooks

First Year Apprentice

Abbey is honored to be appearing on the Barn stage for the 2017 season!  Abbey is a proud native of Kalamazoo, where she enjoyed several appearances on almost every stage in southwest Michigan.  Abbey also writes orginals and performs at several local venues in the area.  Some of her favorite roles are Heather in HANDS ON A HARDBODY, Eva Peron in EVITA, Dragon in SHREK, Marta in COMPANY, and Pattie in SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE.  So grateful for all the support from friends, family and the community!  Much love to Mom, Dad, Erin, Campbell, and Zach.


Alex Crossland

First Year Apprentice

Alex is delighted to be a part of the apprentice program here at the Barn Theatre. Alex holds a Bachelors of Music in Musical Theatre Performance from Arizona State University, but is originally from Northern California. He has had the pleasure of studying under many noteworthy directors all over the west side of the country and was just recently featured in BILLY ELLIOT and BULLETS OVER BROADWAY at Phoenix Theatre. Some favorite roles include Ralph in REEFER MADNESS, Henry in NEXT TO NORMAL and Grantaire in LES MISERABLES. Alex would like to thank his friends and family for their support and the Barn Theatre team for the opportunity.


Carly Dieck

First Year Apprentice

Carly is riveted to be making her debut at the Barn! She is a recent BFA Musical Theatre graduate from Fredonia State University in New York, where she was last seen in THE NORMAL HEART as Emma Brookner, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER as Lorraine Sheldon, PIRATES OF PENZANCE, 12 ANGRY JURORS  in which she portrayed Juror #4, and also appeared in the ensemble of CABARET, and more. Other credits include GODSPELL ("On The Willows" soloist), The WHITE SAVAGE as Catharine Mallot, and CHESS. She would like to thank her friends and family for their love and support, as well as the Barn team for this incredible opportunity!


William Dunn

First Year Apprentice

William Dunn is a a junior musical theatre major at Oakland University, and is extremely excited top be a part of this summer's season at the Barn. William has appeared in productions of BARE: A POP OPERA and THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, and looks forward to the this exciting season. He would like to thank his family for their support of all of his endeavors.


Eric Fredrickson

First Year Apprentice

Eric is going to be a sophomore B.F.A Musical Theater student at Drake University, this fall.  In his time at Drake, he has appeared as Ram's Dad in HEATHERS and as an understudy for SEE ROCK CITY & OTHER DESTINATIONS.  Some of his favorite roles outside of Drake have been Schlomo in FAME, Feste in TWELFTH NIGHT, Will in GLORY DAYS, and Barfee in 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. He would like to thank Kate, Dana, Ben, Kadin, his family (especially his grandma), and of course Brendan and Penelope for this amazing opportunity!


Chase Gray

First Year Apprentice

From Lake Ann, MI, Chase is a recent graduate from Western Michigan University, where he studied musical theatre performance. This past winter, Chase performed in the Barn Theatre's Christmas Cabaret. He has so much fun the he just HAD to come back this summer! Some of Chase's favorite roles to date include Shrek  in SHREK THE MUSICAL, Aaron in CURTAINS, and Padre in MAN OF LA MANCHA. Feel free to connect with Chase on Instagram: chasegray94. Patrick Hill

First Year Apprentice

Patrick Hill is a performer, music director and musician living in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He will go into his third year at Western Michigan University this Fall, where he is a musical theatre major. Performance credits include Dream Curly in OKLAHOMA!  at the Kalamazoo Civic, Ensemble in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE at WMU, and Swing/Ensemble in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD at WMU. Music direction credits include THE WIZ (Assistant Music Directo/Keyboard 2) at WMU, MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS at Queer Theatre Kalamazoo, and VIOLET at WMU.


Jabri Johnson

First Year Apprentice

Jabri is ecstatic to be joining the Barnie family for its 71st season as a first year apprentice. Jabri hails from Cleveland, Ohio. He attends Bowling Green Stage University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Communications with a specialization in Musical Theatre. Recent credits at BGSU include Gangster #1/George Understudy in THE DROWZY CHAPERONE, and Telemachus in THE PENELOPIAD Regionally at Near West Theatre. In the Cleveland area he has appeared as the Balladeer in ASSASSINS and as a Tribe Member in HAIR. He also understudied the role of Schroeder in the Black Swamp Players production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN.


Rachel Mahar

First Year Apprentice

Rachel is tickled pink to be a first-year apprentice at the Barn Theatre and can’t wait to spend the summer doing what she loves! She is a rising senior musical theatre major at James Madison University. She lives in Doylestown, Pennsylvania where she started performing at the age of 7 at the Bucks County Playhouse, The Downtown Performing Arts Center, and other local theatres. She performed in New York City at the American Girl Place when she was in grade school and has had the passion for musical theatre ever since. Favorite roles include Peggy Sawyer in 42nd STREET, Ariel in THE LITTLE MERMAID, Dorothy in THE WIZARD OF OZ and college credits including, Charity U/S in SWEET CHARITY, Jackie Kennedy in FIRST LADY SUITE, and Nadine in WILD PARTY. Brandon Mancuso

First Year Apprentice

Brandon is stoked to be spending a summer at the Barn! A native New Yorker, Brandon is a proud graduate of the Ithaca College School of Music and Department of Theatre Arts. He recently completed an education and outreach internship at Florida Studio Theatre, where he taught various acting and musical theatre classes. Lindsay Powers

First Year Apprentice

Lindsay is exhilarated to be making her Barn debut! Originally from Plymouth Michigan, Lindsay is a graduate from Western Michigan University where she earned a B.F.A. in Music Theater Performance and has been in many productions at WMU and in the surrounding Kalamazoo area. Her recent/favorite roles include Daisy Hilton in SIDE SHOW, Laker Girl in SPAMALOT, Mrs. Meers in THROROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, Helena Landless in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, Sally Simpson in THE WHO’S TOMMY and Logainne Schwartzand, and Grubenierre in The 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. Justin M. Roth

First Year Apprentice

Justin is proud and honored to be joining the Barn’s Apprentice Program this summer! A rising senior in Bowling Green State University’s Musical Theatre program, he was last seen as Sir Andrew in the April production of Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT. Previous roles include Robert Martin in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, Chip Tolentino in The 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, and Tiny Tom/Dr. Billeaux in URINETOWN. Regionally, he has performed with Mercury Theatre Company in Cleveland. Credits include: Og in FINIAN'S RAINBOW, Lon Smith in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, Ensemble in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE LITTLE MERMAID. Justin would like to thank his professors for believing in him and pushing him, his family and friends for supporting him, and his husband Stephen for being a constant source of love and light.


Gabi Shook

First Year Apprentice

Gabi could not be more jazzed to be a part of the Barn’s apprentice company this summer!  Having graduated from Kent State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre, she has most recently been seen in the Pittsburgh area performing comedic musical murder mysteries with touring group: Musical Mysteries & More.  Favorite credits include a Young Republicanette in HEATHERS at Beck Center for the Arts, Roustabout in SIDE SHOW at Kent State University as well as Melody in BAD JEWS at Actors’ Summit Theatre and Marcy Park in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at Owens Community College.  Gabi would like to thank her family for being supportive of all her endeavors, and her friends for being the greatest.


Hannah Faith Stevens

First Year Apprentice

Hannah is beyond excited to work for the Barn this summer! She has grown up watching Barn shows and has always dreamed of being on our stage. Hannah is from Battle Creek, MI. She is currently a sophomore at Oakland University and will receive a BFA in Musical Theatre. Most recently, Hannah portrayed Wednesday Addams in THE ADDAMS FAMILY. She also portrayed Sharpay Evans in DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and Elle Woods in LEGALLY BLONDE at a Michigan State University workshop.
