Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking rock musical RENT comes to The Barn Theatre stage for the 80th season.

Before RENT became a worldwide phenomenon, creator Jonathan Larson spent time at the Barn Theatre early in his career, making this production an especially meaningful part of the Barn’s landmark season.

Set in New York City’s East Village, RENT follows a group of young artists and friends as they navigate love, loss, friendship, and pursuing their dreams while facing the challenges of life and change. Featuring iconic songs like “Seasons of Love,” this powerful and emotional musical has inspired audiences around the world for generations.
