Andrea Arvanigian is the latest Apprentice Actor to earn her Equity Membership!

|

Augusta, MI – We are thrilled to announce that returning Apprentice, Andrea Arvanigian, is the Barn’s newest Actors’ Equity Association member! She is the second Apprentice this season to earn Equity Membership.

Andrea is returning to the Barn for her second season this summer. Originally from Portage, MI, Andrea has a BFA in Music Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University. She has completed improv training program at Upright Citizens Brigade Los Angeles. In addition to international productions, she’s also appeared in several commercials, and is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.

As an Equity theatre, the Barn employs accomplished professional actors who belong to the union, brings back guest stars for performances, and allows for Apprentice Actors to learn the trade and the craft of theatre production.

Brendan Ragotzy, Owner and Producer at the Barn Theatre said, “We’re all excited to share Andrea’s Equity status, especially since it happens during our production of RENT, which celebrates its 20th Anniversary, and was also written by a past Barnie, Jonathan Larson. It’s powerful to see what we do comes full circle season after season.”

Apprentices are inherently tied to the Barn’s productions, participating in backstage duties and performing in main stage shows. You’ll also find them leading Backstage Xperience groups, helping park cars, and breaking down and moving sets for each show. It’s through these activities and responsibilities that our Apprentice Actors become Equity Membership Candidates and accrue weeks toward an Equity card.

Andrea’s membership becomes official on August 22, the opening night of RENT! It’s a great opportunity to see her in action and enjoy a great production. We’re so proud of Andrea, and all of our Apprentices here at The Barn!
